The Heart Truth seeks to raise awareness of heart disease in women. Every year it sponsors a fashion show featuring celebrities wearing red dresses to raise money for its campaign. This year the celebrities included Gabby Douglas, Nastia Liukin, Soledad O’Brien, Toni Braxton, Brenda Strong, Minka Kelly, Kris Jenner, and Kelly Osbourne among others. For the first time in the 11 year history of the show, a non-celebrity was featured, Cindy Parsons of Connecticut, who has made great strides in her own battle against heart disease.
