Melissa Rendlen is a semi-retired urgent care physician who took up writing poetry in her extra time, thinking it might be a good adjunct to her decreased income. Despite having poems published in several journals, including Nixes Mate, Underfoot Poetry, Plath Poetry Project, The Missing Slate, L’Éphémère, and Indolent Press: What Rough Beast, her daughters are very happy she kept her day job. Recently she moved to her favorite place on earth, the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Much of her poetry centers on nature and the lakefront cabin her grandfather built in the 30’s, relating the beauty of the area and also serving as metaphors for her musings on life. Her chapbook, Geography Lessons is available at Clare Songbirds Press and Amazon.
