Winner of Synkroniciti’s Transcend Poetry Contest: Fireflies by David Estringel

Synkroniciti is honored to select Texan poet David Estringel’s “Fireflies” as the winner of our “Transcend” poetry contest. Lush and vulnerable, “Fireflies” invites us to gaze in wonder at the joy of childhood–that brief time when we are carefree and unaware of sorrow. Hope, memory and regret weave themselves together in a bittersweet tribute to playfulness. David’s poetry is full of sensual music that celebrates the simple miracles of being alive, all the while acknowledging the agony of their inevitable passing.

“Fireflies” will be featured in “Transcend,” our tenth issue, debuting November 30, 2021. You can subscribe here or order the individual issue here.
