Look and Listen #3: Embers of Bloom by Daniel Obasi

Daniel Obasi is a Nigerian art director,  fashion stylist, photographer and filmmaker who is “deeply concerned with advancing the scope of African narratives”.  This is Embers of Bloom, a beautiful look at what it means to find yourself through art, in this case the art of fashion. Please take some time to get to know Daniel’s work on his website. He has several short films and they are all breath-taking, some in the afro-futurist fantasy realm. This is an artist to watch.

Here’s to appreciating each other’s dreams.

From Youtube:

“”Let’s pretend no one else is here”

Inspired by friendship and the fantasy of becoming someone else through fashion. The film is a visual experience of what finding your self could look like, a momentary realization and escape through emptiness, expressions and metaphors into something different, something that makes you bloom!
