Featured Artists: LUNIS

Synkroniciti is thankful to welcome the musical duo LUNIS as part of the collaborative team for the music video Nautilus, which was brought to us by director, painter, and lyricist Ariel Neo, our Featured Artist tomorrow. Nautilus is a beautiful collaboration inspired in part by Ariel’s experience in quarantine during Covid-19, memorializing the slowing of time and the distortion of space. These voices and harmonies are truly lovely.
We will feature LUNIS here today, but, to see the Nautilus videos and read the accompanying article, you should subscribe or purchase the issue.
LUNIS is a french musical duo from Fouesnant comprised of Laurène Bourvon and Louis Mevel. Both competed in the 2013 Star Academy competition—Star Academy is the largest televised reality show in France—and Laurène won. They are regularly involved in artistic collaborations and have worked with artists such as Royale Avenue and Yall, Boulevards des Airs and many others. They first collaborated with Ariel Neo by creating music for her latest short film Firefalls.
The electro-pop duo, inspired by the new American pop wave, also has a folk element that recalls Irish artists Damien Rice and Glen Hansard which they were able to draw on beautifully for Nautilus.
