Expectations Featured Artist Tiziana Rasile

Synkroniciti is thrilled to welcome Italian abstract painter Tiziana Rasile, based in Rome, with four oil paintings in shades of blue, silver, black and gold. These gorgeous works are accompanied by a short article on her inspiration and process, entitled “Embodied Sound: The Music of Light in the Artwork of Tiziana Rasile.”

“Tiziana manifests sound as visible energy moving through space. The following works, from her series Where the Sound Falls and In the Fluid Sound, exemplify her luminous technique and the liminal nature of her work, which lies where the philosophical, scientific and spiritual converge.”

It is fascinating to read how music and nature inspire her artwork in the search to connect to primordial sound through light and color. Ancestral Horizons shows us a landscape of curving ropes and blocks of color, mysterious and primal.

In Subtle Chrono, as Tiziana explains, “Rhythm finds spatial expression through the use of inlay, an ancient Italian technique used since the early 14th century, represented in an experimental and contemporary way by the addition of small gold and silver cardboard inserts.” The process is innovative, but based in tradition. Microsound II continues the use of these cardstock inserts with a different style of brushstroke and texture.

Wind in Time is an airy piece that seems to vibrate on the wind thanks to a delightful blurring effect. Tiziana writes “Sound propagates through space like a light breeze in search of the rhythm of the universe, or the hiss of a light crossing the horizon seeking the eternal, in a dance of light that becomes pure melody.”

Experience Tiziana’s luminous artwork and read about her inspiration in Synkroniciti’s Expectations, Vol. 8, No. 2, available here: https://synkroniciti.com/the-magazine/purchase-individual-issues/.
