We are thrilled to announce that “Only the Frozen Emphasis” by Jonathan Yungkans has been selected the winner of our “birds” poetry contest and will be published in the September 1st issue of Synkroniciti. This poem masterfully weaves together the connective tension between nature and urban landscapes, human and animal language and community, social issues stemming from cultural polarization exacerbated by Covid, and the challenging relationship between uniqueness and relatability that is inherent in creative minds. He braids the thread of synchronicity running through all of this into a rope, drawing in cultural and literary allusions that enrich his vision. Jonathan has written many excellent poems to grace our screens–as well as a beautiful cover for our “hidden” issue. “Only the Frozen Emphasis” takes us to new heights.
If you would like to pre-order the issue, you can do that here.
