Root Yarden is a dancer, a poet, a therapist and a mother. Born in 1958 in Israel, she graduated from the Rubin Dance Academy in 1984, later receiving degrees in Drama Therapy (1999) from Tel-Hai Academic College and Art Curation (2014) from Tel Aviv University. She has published three collections of poetry and images in Hebrew: A Woman Catches the Sun, Monamour and Mythologies. Her work as a dancer includes “MATERIA,” which was performed at art festivals throughout Israel (1985-91). Solo performances include “me myself eye,” a collaboration with painter and musician Harold Rubin; “Teatroneto;” “Butoh” with Yumiko Yoshioka; “Boats; ” “It’s all about you” (memoir); “X LAND,” video art for the Venice Biennale; “Mud Goddess;” “In Between;” and “My Mother.”
