Welcome energetic and incisive performance poet Sarah Jane Justice from Adelaide, South Australia. Her video poem, Longing, is an honest, hard-hitting look at how society turns its back on those in need. The beauty of slam poetry is that it addresses so many of the issues that are right in front of our noses and still manage to be ignored. Sarah Jane’s delivery is warm and impassioned, simple, but powerfully clear. She’s another creative polymath: a writer, poet, singer-songwriter, musician and performer.

Sarah Jane Justice has won a tidy number of awards for her spoken word poetry. Her greatest bragging rights include getting hopelessly lost in the labyrinthine halls of the Sydney Opera House in 2018, staying calm while rubbing shoulders with some of her idols in the green room for Adelaide Writer’s Week in 2019, and living out her own version of ‘Dead Poet’s Society’ in school workshops around South Australia. Her other CV credits include singer-songwriter, poet, prose author, cabaret performer and former touring musician/diva, although she tends to brush over that last one for bridge-burning reasons.
