Our second artist at Saturday’s gathering is poet Mark Hendrickson. We published three of his insightful poems in “Intersections,” our current issue of the magazine. They are deeply vulnerable explorations of his relationship with his father, further complicated by his father’s slide into dementia. He will also have a triptych called
_ _ _ _ WILD _ _ _ in our upcoming “Wild” issue. It is exciting to see an emerging poet find their voice and confidence and Mark is really finding his light these days.

Before becoming a poet, Mark worked for many years as a mental health technician in a locked psychiatric unit. He has advanced degrees in Music, Marriage & Family Therapy, and Health Information Management. His writings often reflect issues related to mental health, emotional trauma, and difficult family relationships.
